About Our Client

Our client is an international manufacturing company, one of the leader within their sector is seeking to recruit a Chief Accountant for the Polish operations based in Bydgoszcz.

Job Description

  • To develop and continuously improve ways of working in the finance team to provide accurate, timely and consistent information to all levels of management across the operations and to Group Finance
  • To work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure standardised reporting implemented in line with group requirements
  • Responsibility for all local statutory requirements and liaison with local auditors for year-end purposes
  • Managing the financial accounting team to ensure accurate recording of sales, purchases, cash transactions, fixed assets and journal entries, the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and agreement of all inter-company balances
  • Preparation of monthly financial packs including comparisons to budget, forecast and prior year together with narrative information for use by local and group teams
  • To work closely with both operations and finance to support the reforecasting and annual budgeting process Implementation of cash management, including weekly reforecasts and liaison with Group Finance accordingly
  • Preparation and filing/submission of annual financial statements and other statutory requirements including VAT, taxes, intra stat, statistical and banking returns
  • Support country management with business analysis

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant University degree in economics / finance; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) will be a strong asset
  • At least 2-3 years experience in finance and general accounting with at least 1-2 years at the managerial level within international organization (prior manufacturing sector experience is highly desirable)
  • Analytical thinking and strong skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently in a fluid, fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills to review business and make sound recommendations
  • Fluent English
