  • Our client is a globally renown and leading producer of automotive parts. The company develops and manufactures components, modules and complete systems for car interiors in over 20 countries and employs 9000 people in the key markets of Europe, North America, South America and Asia. The company has been listed on the European stock Exchange. Currently, the company is looking for an European Lead Buyer, located in Silesian plant.

Job Description

  • Responsibility for the purchasing result for the lead buyer families (commodity, category- direct purchasing)
  • Negotiation with suppliers with ability to define, qualify and develop a strategic supplier panel, based on Purchasing Marketing and Global Sourcing.
  • Achieving maximum saving using pooling of demand, extended knowledge of the relevant products and processes, detailed cost analysis, functional value methodology.
  • Support budget proposal for the product families managed with budgeting responsibility.
  • Creation and maintenance of the improvement plan for the purchasing families, requesting and managing support of Local Buyers for the implementation at local plants
  • Issue of administration documents ( supplier ranking, capability matrix).
  • Support to other teams (Local and Project) as well as support to other departments for the evaluation of alternative materials, benchmarking of alternative technical solutions and suppliers.
  • Tracking results and assess suppliers continuously.
  • Maintain and analyse supplier performance index (SPI).
  • Recommendation and contribution to the make-or-buy decisions, assessing the supply market, the new markets and products.

The Successful Applicant

  • Achieved long Buyer seniority in Global Automotive companies (about 5 years) in matrix organisation, best for a few divisions/plants
  • Technical knowledge of the purchasing families
  • Master Degree or equivalent education level.
  • Fluent in English, a second language of advantage.
  • Knowledge of products cost structure.
  • Ability to read technical documentation (drawings, specifications).
  • Mobility in EU and outside (short missions).
  • Settled basic legal skills for contract negotiation.
  • Good Excel and Pivot tables skills
  • SAP (generally ERP systems)
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Capability to work in cross functional and cross cultural environment.
