About Our Client

Our client is a well established Capital Group operating in transportation & shipping sector in Poland and Germany. As a result of expansion of their business in Germany, the company is looking to recruit a highly experienced and dynamic candidate for the position of Finance Manager. The selected candidate will play a key operational and strategic role in the set-up and growth of the operations in Berlin and partly in Poland.

Job Description

  • Establish, monitor and implement all necessary accounting, treasury, controlling and general administrative processes to comply with legal and group requirements
  • Advise the regional leadership team on financial strategy and its impact on company objectives
  • Prepare cyclical financial accounting statements with support of accounting external office in line with German accounting standards for the purpose of local compliance
  • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of all tax returns and interaction with local polish tax authorities
  • Create monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages including analysis and explanation of major deviations versus plan and previous year
  • Work closely with management team to prepare the cyclical budget and forecast
  • Provide analysis on any CapEx initiatives
  • Supervise payroll process
  • Responsible for ensuring company insurance, licensing, contracts, supplier relationships, and import-export requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong background in area of operational controlling especially in services companies
  • At least five years experience in a leading position in Finance & Accounting, in a broad role, ideally in an transport & shipping environment with international orientation
  • Good knowledge in IFRS or German accounting standards is highly desired
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill to operate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proactive, organized and independent problem solver
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadline
  • Very good German both spoken and written
  • University level degree preferably in Business Administration/Finance
