Job Description

Ensure the correct, complete, chronological and orderly record of all General Ledger accounting transactions as well as execution of demanding tasks in the area of reporting at Global Financial Services.

  • Examination of closing entries and items
  • Responsible counterpart for Business Partners in all countries and for all legal entities
  • Ensure that closing activities and reports are completed based on agreed deadlines with the territories: Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities including support of group reporting
  • Professional handling and alignment of special issues in the field of general ledger accounting
  • Review automated closing adjustments (e.g. bad debt allowance, foreign currency valuation)
  • Review l/C reconciliation (automated and manual) and ensure that reconciling items are followed up promptly
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Review journal entries, reports and reconciliations to warrant compliance with external reporting and tax requirements and deliver quality service to the territories * Posting concerning treasury activities
  • Provide solution on new local legal requirements with local auditors, ensure internal controls are adhered to and provide support to audit process
  • Liaise with auditors (internal & external) and tax consultants on statutory reporting matters
  • Meet service level agreements and performance targets related to the R2R processes

The Successful Applicant

  • Accounting or Finance degree or equivalent work experience
  • Several years of supervisory experience in an accounting environment
  • Several years experience in strong accounting background and General Ledger knowledge, end-to end process knowledge on R2R
  • Several years of SAP experience, good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Team player, quality- and service-oriented
  • Highly motivated and flexible
  • Excellent English language skills, being native in portuguese, spanish or other european languages
