Our client is a global FMCG trader (over 50 years on the global market).Polish entity is a service office supporting the European divisions in area of finance, commercial and logistics services.We are looking for a Head of Finance for our Polish office located in Warsaw. About Our Client

Our client is a global FMCG trader (over 50 years on the market).
Polish entity is a service office supporting the European division headquartered in the Netherlands.
Polish office provides finance (involved in various regional finance processes), commercial (focused on Eastern Europe) and logistics (focused on EU export) services.

We are looking for a new Head of Finance for our Polish office located in Warsaw.
This role offers a unique combination of:
+ regional finance,
+ local finance,
+ local general management responsibilities.

Job Description

briefly:

  • Responsibility for all polish entity matters (especially finance/admin area) which serve accounting services as part of EU finance HUB + focus on EU finance activities (VAT, AP&BC, enviromental tax)



REGIONAL FINANCE

  • Ensuring timely and correct monthly VAT filings for all of 12 VAT registration in various EU countries (e.g. Holland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy, Baltics) with support from tax experts
  • Cooperation with internal and external tax advisors to map out the new EU environmental tax (packaging-related) that company has to comply with (set-up the accounting process to ensure compliance with these new regulations)
  • Cooperation with Manager (located in HQ) and 6 FTE (located in Warsaw) in area of AP & Business control
  • Cooperation with the auditor, banks and tax authorities (including international network of tax advisors)
  • Supervising the creation of relevant reports for the Group, shareholders, external entities, etc.
  • Close cooperation with Regional CFO and HQ
  • Participation and implementation of projects in the field of finance and other



LOCAL FINANCE

  • Managing/supervising accounting/finance teams (13 FTE) in terms of local and regional financial activities + cooperation/support other departments
  • Responsible for local accounting and timely monthly group reporting requirements
  • Supervision over preparation of standalone financial statements (PAS) for polish entity
  • Supervision over preparation of tax declarations (VAT, CIT, WHT, CbCR, TP) according to Polish tax regulation
  • Review and approval of local OPEX invoices
  • Responsible for local payroll (including social charges, bonuses, etc.)



LOCAL GM'S DUTIES

  • Official board role which includes responsibility for tax and legal compliance together with any other relevant matters (signing tax declarations, singing binding agreements and signing local financial statements)
  • HR responsibilities including salary & bonus framework changes, work regulations, hiring & dismissals and being a point of contact for the regional HR Manager (located in HQ)
  • Managing local IT needs (internet, laptops, etc.) including being a point of contact for the global IT team
  • Managing local office matters including rent, lunch, insurance, etc.
  • Managing and representing the Company in legal matters
  • Responsible for local car fleet management (purchase, maintenance and insurance of cars, etc.);

The Successful Applicant

  • Higher education: finance, accounting, economics or related studies
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in general audit (BIG 4) | outsourcing company (in accounting on position of Accounting Manager) | Finance Manager (preferable service company) | SSC Manager
  • Team management experience (min 5 FTE)
  • Practical knowledge of accounting (tax, statutory reporting)
  • Providing accounting services for companies in different countries - added value but not 'must have' factor
  • Fluent English
