About Our Client
Our client is a prestigious financial institution operating worldwide. We are supporting them in hiring the best talent for a senior position withing their global quant team. The person in the role will act as Software Development Director - by developing future architecture of the financial modelling libraries most widely used within the company, developing platforms used by hundreds of quant developers globally. This person will also manage a software engineering team in Poland, functionals teams across the globe, and will closely cooperate with quantitative engineers. We are seeking candidates with a strong track record in team management coupled with excellent hands-on experience as a Senior .Net Developer or C++ Engineer - - this role will use your expertise in both areas on a daily basis. Experience in working with quants in not necessary - this is a unique opportunity to join this area. The role can be located in Warsaw, Cracow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Łódź or another major city in Warsaw.
Job Description
- Have impact on the strategy of the Group within technology used in the quantitative analytics area and other areas
- Focus on developing financial modelling libraries, which are used by quants all over the world
- Interact and influence senior stakeholders across the global (including Managing Directors), technical teams and others
- Manage and build a team of software developers
- Take responsibility for governance and delivery of the projects executed by the team, define and measure team performance and delivery outcomes
- Collaborate on daily basis with colleagues in other engineering teams (responsible for Continuous Integration and Release Management) and quant teams (developing individual financial models)
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in .Net and/or C++
- At least 5 years of direct management experience (software developer teams)
- Ability to strategize and think ahead
- Practical knowledge of good software practices - automated tests, continuous integration and agile methodologies
- Attitude of acting as the service owner, with adequate attention to detail
- Deep understanding of engineering craftsmanship
- Tech-Savvy with strong communication skills
- Excellent management skills coordination, coaching and helping employees with professional growth
- Very good knowledge of English is a must
- Previous experience in working as part of a commercial quant/analytics development function would be a plus
- Good knowledge of paradigm, COM, msbuild, SxS, various debugging techniques (interactive disassembler, windbg, perfview, sysinternals) will be an avantage
