We are looking for a senior, hands-on HR leader to build and scale the HR function for a newly established GBS/SSC in Wrocław. Starting from an initial headcount of 1, the role will be critical in ramping up to ~150 employees in the first phase, ensuring strong foundations across recruitment, compliance, and people processes.

Job Description

1. Build and execute end-to-end talent acquisition strategy

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for the SSC ramp-up (0 → ca. 150 employees)
  • Design and implement scalable hiring processes, tools, and employer branding
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality talent at pace, aligned with business timelines
  • Partner closely with leadership on workforce planning and hiring roadmap



2. Establish HR function from the ground up (Poland)

  • Design and implement core HR processes (onboarding, performance management, employee lifecycle, retention, engagement)
  • Act as the primary HR partner for all employees in Poland
  • Build HR policies, procedures, and documentation compliant with Polish labour law and group requirements
  • Ensure smooth employee experience during rapid scale-up



3. Act as strategic HR business partner

  • Partner with GBS/Sales Director and senior stakeholders
  • Translate business goals into people strategy (org design, capability building, scaling model)
  • Support leadership in building a high-performance culture within a start-up-like environment



4. Build and lead the HR team

  • Define HR structure aligned with business growth (HRBP, TA, operations, etc.)
  • Recruit and develop the HR team from scratch
  • Establish governance, roles, and responsibilities to support sustainable growth



5. Ensure compliance and governance

  • Guarantee full compliance with Polish employment law, data protection, and internal policies
  • Build frameworks for audits, documentation, and risk mitigation
  • Develop internal HR policies where currently not defined



6. Drive HR operations excellence and service model maturity

  • Define KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics for HR services
  • Implement scalable HR systems, processes, and reporting
  • Transition HR from local stand-up function to integrated service model



7. Future scope - HR Tower Lead (Global)

  • Take ownership of HR service delivery as part of the GBS model
  • Lead the development of HR as a service tower supporting multiple regions
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and efficiency across HR processes globally

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of HR should have:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior leadership roles in fast-paced, international environments
  • Proven track record in building or scaling HR functions within SSC/GBS, start-up, or transformation settings
  • Strong experience in high-volume recruitment and delivering hiring at pace during organisational ramp-ups
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, especially during early-stage build-up phases
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable HR structures, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Solid understanding of Polish labour law and HR compliance, with exposure to multi-country environments seen as a strong asset
  • Familiarity with HR service delivery models (shared services / tower model), including KPI- and SLA-driven environments
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align HR strategy with commercial objectives
  • Experience building, leading, and developing HR teams from scratch, including defining roles and organisational structures
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and efficiency
  • Resilient, pragmatic, and solution-driven approach, comfortable working in ambiguity and under time pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a high-performance, engaging culture in a scaling organisation
