As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in deploying and operating applications on a modern Red Hat OpenShift platform. Your main focus will be on CI/CD automation, automated deployments, and GitOps-based configuration management, ensuring that applications can be transferred into production efficiently, reliably, and securely.

Our client is developing and operating a Factory Edge Platform that provides the technological foundation for Industrial IoT, data analytics, AI, and computer vision applications across production facilities.

Job Description

Your responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Deploy, operate, and maintain applications on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
  • Automate application deployment, release management, and operational processes.
  • Manage application configurations and deployment workflows using GitOps principles.
  • Work with declarative configuration and deployment tools such as Helm, Kustomize, and Argo CD.
  • Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker or Podman.
  • Develop and enhance cloud-native microservices in Java.
  • Support the integration of applications and production systems using REST APIs and messaging technologies.
  • Collaborate with production, OT, and IT teams to ensure reliable application delivery in an industrial environment.
  • Troubleshoot deployment and platform issues and continuously improve automation, reliability, and operational processes.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support production operations.



The Successful Applicant

Your profileEssential qualifications

  • Several years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Practical experience deploying and operating applications on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong experience automating application deployments and release processes.
  • Practical knowledge of GitOps-based configuration and deployment management.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
  • Experience developing microservices using Java.
  • Good knowledge of Linux environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a structured approach to solving technical problems.
  • Fluent English, at least C1 level.



Nice to have

  • Experience in an industrial environment, manufacturing, production IT, or Industrial IoT.
  • Experience working with on-premises or edge computing platforms in environments with limited reliance on public cloud services.
  • Knowledge of Apache Camel and experience implementing application integration solutions.
  • Familiarity with Helm, Kustomize, and Argo CD.
  • Knowledge of MQTT, OPC UA, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Knowledge of Quarkus, Python, or AI-related application integration.
