About Our Client

For our client - a global and rapidly growing organization - we are looking for a VAT Compliance Analyst to join the EMEA tax team. The team is continuously expanding its scope to cover additional jurisdictions, creating an opportunity to work with complex VAT processes and reporting across multiple markets. This role offers both independent ownership of key VAT activities and involvement in international initiatives, as well as the chance to actively contribute to the development, standardization, and optimisation of VAT processes across the organization.

Job Description

  • Oversee the end‑to‑end preparation and review of VAT returns, SAF‑T files, Intrastat, and other statutory reports across the EMEA region.
  • Oversee data accuracy and completeness, identify inconsistencies, and coordinate corrective actions with finance and operational teams.
  • Ensure timely submission of VAT obligations and coordinate payment processes with the Accounts Payable department.
  • Support and lead initiatives to onboard new entities and VAT registrations into the global SAP environment, including VAT‑related system testing.
  • Perform VAT account reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and ensure proper recording of all VAT‑related transactions.
  • Maintain SOX compliance and provide support during internal and external audits as well as tax authority reviews.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams, business stakeholders, and the VAT Manager on VAT‑related matters and interpretation of tax rules.
  • Oversee VAT registrations within the EMEA region and monitor fulfilment of local reporting obligations.
  • Provide operational guidance on VAT treatment, transaction classification, and reporting requirements to internal teams.



The Successful Applicant

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
  • More than 3 years of experience in VAT compliance and accounting within an international environment.
  • Good understanding of VAT regulations and practical experience preparing VAT returns across the EMEA region.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working with SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize effectively, and comfort working in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive mindset, problem‑solving orientation, and willingness to drive process improvements.
